CrossFit Kids provides a fitness program that is safe, fun and energetic for kids ages 5 – 13
My daughter attends the kids class on the weekends and she loves it. Coach Mike is awesome at what he does. He keeps the kids focused, motivated and makes the class fun at the same time making sure the kids always want to come back for more. My daughter also trains Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and CrossFit has really helped her out. If your in the area or thought about bringing your kid in to try a class, do not hesitate to give Coach Mike and CrossFit Flood a try. You will not be disappointed.
Before I joined CrossFit Flood in the summer of 2012, I was a member of 24 Hour Fitness. All I cared about was lifting weights and getting bigger. When I first started CrossFit, I was afraid of getting weaker since many of the workouts are so cardio heavy. Not only did I get stronger, I also increased my cardiovascular endurance substantially.
I was once that girl that would hide in the corner of the gym and do my short cardio session super early so not one would see me because i didnt want to be made fun of.. BUT NOW I am unstoppable, committed, proud and motivated all thanks to my family at Crossfit Flood!! This place and my new love for CROSSFIT changed my LIFE COMPLETELY! I found more that what I expected here at flood! I found community, support, dedication and genuine coaches and people who really want to see each other meet our goals! I was so scared to join CrossFit with 0 experience and being overweight, however, that fear went away after the first day of coming here! It’s never too late to make positive changes in your life, whether you are ready or not, Flood will make you feel like you have it all together!! •Joined July 5, 2017
I drive by at least 8 other CrossFit gyms to get to this one, because of the people. This isn’t one of those competitors only gyms, where if you’re not at the next CrossFit games, you aren’t a priority. Flood is far from that; the coaches want you to be the best you can be. If that means doing body weight work when the prescribed weight is 115, then that’s what you’re doing. The other members are just as encouraging, no matter what level you’re working at. Everyone is supportive and motivates you to do your very best. There are class times to fit everyone’s schedule and unlike other gyms; people plan to do things together on the weekends. Weekend volleyball games, hikes, or even a holiday party; you’re not just joining a gym, you’re joining the Flood family.
I’ve been coming here for about 2.5 – 3 years now. The coaches are great, the programming is excellent, and the community is very close. CrossFit Flood will have many community events throughout the year such as the summer competition day within the gym called “Flood, Sweat, and Beers”, the annual Christmas party, and more. These events help the community grow even closer and help members meet each other who otherwise would never have met. The members who usually go to the 4pm class will get to meet members they may not have met because they go to the 6:30am class. No one has ever been judgmental against me. Quite the opposite in fact, this gym is nothing but encouraging. I once finished a workout that took me much longer than everyone else, and everyone stuck around and encouraged me until I finished.
I’ve been a member of Crossfit Flood for almost 4 years now and it’s an awesome gym with great, great people. The trainers are supportive and push you to be your best, but recognize everyone is at a different level of fitness. After spending years at the Y or trying to keep fit on my own, the atmosphere of community and challenge is what keeps me going back for more. The classes are small enough that you’ll get individual attention, and you’re sure to know people by name when you leave after your first session.
Dropped in this last week when I was in town on travel. Walked through the door and was immediately approached by coach Mike. He asked about my background and gave me a quick rundown of the gym. I wasn’t able to make the CrossFit class but was able to join their Oly lifting class which was a huge help for me as I don’t get to spend as much time as I’d like to on it. Really helpful coach and welcoming athletes. Excited to drop in again next time in town.
Crossfit Flood delivers the quintessential Crossfit experience – great programming that scales for all fitness levels, encouraging coaches, and a welcoming community. Flood is a judgment and ego-free zone that is perfect for entry-level and experienced crossfitters alike. Stop thinking about it and join already! You won’t regret it.
Since joining Crossfit Flood I have lost fat and gained muscle, but more importantly I have gained CONFIDENCE. My body and strength has changed more drastically in one year by coming to this gym than in 5 years of going to 24 Fitness and doing the same workout every other day.
Mike and Brian are great guys who are running a fantastic gym. I dropped in at CF Flood for the first time about 2 years ago and Brian welcomed me in open arms. I came back yesterday (Feb 2015) and Mike greeted me as if I was a regular and made me feel right at home... I’ve been to a number of boxes around the US and in Europe during my travels and I have to say that Flood is the friendliest and most professional of all the boxes I’ve dropped in on. I’d highly recommend joining CF Flood and being part of the fantastic workouts and great community Mike and Brian have put together. I look forward to my next visit to San Diego and dropping in on a class again.
This is an awesome gym! I have been going here for about a month now. All the coaches have been very welcoming and helpful. I was nervous to start Crossfit but I am glad I did! Every day is challenging and motivating. Take advantage of the free trial week and you will love it! Mike and Brian are awesome guys!
Crossfit Flood’s trainers/owners, Mike and Brian, are awesome. They are concerned with your form throughout everything, which you hear a lot about when listening to people rag on Crossfit. They push you to your limits without screaming at you like maniacs. At Flood you find the true spirit of Crossfit. The trainers and the members cheer each other on; whether in competition with one another or just on the sideline everyone just wants the people working out to feel better and be better than they were the day before. Whether you’re setting a goal to lose weight, to get stronger, or to become more generally healthy and fit, Brian and Mike are there for you and will help you reach your goals.
It was the first time I was able to work out and give 100% while not feeling weird for making grunting noises, or have to apologize for leaving a trail of sweat behind me. It was great to compete against the others in my class and engage in camaraderie as a result of the extremely difficult workout we endured together. My hands were getting torn apart, my shins scraped up, and I was sore in places that I didn’t know muscles existed – and I loved every minute of it. Listen to me, I sound like a beast. Well I assure you I’m not, but I definitely feel like one after completing a WOD.
I've always said the hardest part is walking in the door, especially for the first time. If you've been thinking about trying CrossFit but feel intimidated or think you need to be in better shape before you start, just come in. The coaches are amazing and will scale any workout to meet your current ability. The other members will welcome you and cheer you on. If you've been in CrossFit for a while and looking for a new box, this is the place. I've been part of a few different gyms and this one is it. Coach Mike, the owner, genuinely loves what it does, cares about the members of his gym and creating a community of all types of people with the same goal...to live a healthier life. I can't believe how much progress I've made in the past year and I couldn't have done it on my own. I love the Flood family and you will too.
Great community. Members are welcoming and supportive of each other.Coaches are great. This the only reasonably priced CF gym in San Diego.
I recently came back to CrossFit Flood after a little absence over a year and a half maybe. Coach Mike is awesome; he's also the owner. We have new coaches that are awesome - they encourage me and push me to get the best out of my workouts. I had gained a few pounds, and have been back for a month and have lost weight already. The box has also gone thru renovations; we have new equipment and a larger space - 5,000 square feet. It's not only a CrossFit but a strong community of individuals there for many reasons. CrossFit Flood is definitely worth every penny. You might think you're paying a lot, but not really, the benefits of being fit and happy have no price. Plus the things I'm learning, translates into my life. Where I'm like it's okay, little by little I'll get there. Just like anything, it takes time and hard work. CrossFit Flood will help you get to where you want to be and you'll have coaches pushing you to your limits and they will cheer you on and encourage you, EACH step of the way!
What an amazing group of people! Not only did they win me over with the community they've created but the programming they have is pretty legit. If you're looking for a place to drop in at or even call your home, this is where you should go! I can't wait to visit the area again so I can WOD with everyone again! Until next time guys & gals!
Great location and friendly staff! I’m new to cross-fit and very surprised at the results in such a short period of time. I wish I started a long time ago. If getting in the best shape of your life interests you..give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed!
I have been part of the CrossFit Flood family since March of 2010. When I first started CrossFit I was nervous and out of shape. I knew the stigma about CrossFit and was not sure I was ready for this type of intensity. What I found was a community open to every ability level. The encouragement to give each workout my best yet work at my own ability has been incredible. I now have great friends who I look forward to seeing each week. I know they will be both encouraging and push me to do the best I can. CrossFit Flood is the only gym I have ever found with this type of community.
I will never be able to express just how grateful I am to be part of the Flood Family. From the day I went in to try out a class I felt right at home and knew I was where I needed to be. The owners and trainers are dedicated to being the best they can for their members, all the while giving you the friendship and motivation that I believe is integral for a CrossFit Box.
I have been here two times, its small but don't let that fool you. The trainers and the work outs are intense. Will have your heart pumping and body sweating! I recommend trying this gym out if you live around the area, its kinda' hidden but its behind Harley Davidson Dealer (update: Harley Davidson moved...future home of Tesla). Give it a try, you too will be impressed.
Very knowledgeable and friendly team here! The gym is a nice size with a big back area. The coaches Mike and Jared are super cool and friendly. They are attentive the whole class while at the same time keeping it fun. There seems to an a lot of people who do bjj here too for their strength training. I would recommend this place for all levels. Also plenty of parking.
I love this place! I wrote a review on their FB page but I'll just reiterate how I love this CrossFit community. The coaches are excellent and the programming is a beast and a killer but it kicks my butt and i love it. Everyone always encourages me despite me being the slowest in the class. Just a great positive community and I'm glad I found this box. Coach Mike and Jared are awesome!
Crossfit has changed my exercise experience. For the first time ever, working out is not a chore; I look forward to going to the gym. The variety of exercise is tremendous. We do so many different things I have no opportunity to get bored or in a routine. I like the discipline of selecting the days I work out and accepting the posted exercise routine for that day – it makes me challenge and push myself in ways I have not before.
